Equitable public school system in quality for the students and financing for the taxpayer.

Nondiscriminatory practice regarding Village employees;

Human relations policy statement by each Village board;

Examination and publication of that policy.

Caucus Plan

A caucus method of selecting candidates that is representative and communicative;

Encouraging all registered voters to participate in nominating committee decisions.

A caucus system for the New Trier High School Board.

Department of Public Safety

Maintenance of current, written policies and procedures that are available to the public.

Zoning

Zoning ordinance consistent with social, economic and aesthetic goals and an economically healthy business district.

Housing Options

A range of housing options to meet the needs of residents;

Diversity in housing including housing appropriate for seniors and the disabled;

Development of housing that meets the general neighborhood character;

Preservation of the unique small town character;

Maintenance of open space;

Height limitations in the multi-family district;

Establishment of a Housing Commission to make recommendations regarding housing needs and to administer a Housing Assistance program and provide assistance regarding affordable housing;

A range of housing options for special populations;

Zoning designation for residential areas for some group housing;

New Trier Township continuing to educate the public and coordinate township-wide efforts for housing solutions;

Long-range planning for waste disposal and resource reclamation;

Recycling programs;

Use of innovative waste disposal technology that is environmentally sound.

New Trier Township Government

The belief that the township is the best level of government to provide general assistance and health and human services;

The nonpartisan process of the selection of New Trier Township officials, committee and advisory boards.
