Did You Know?Glencoe women were active in the Winnetka League before establishing their own chapter in 1941. The international climate made it essential for Glencoe women to become involved in all aspects of government. During the 1940's, the Glencoe league cooperated with the office of Civilian Defense, the Blood Bank and other war activities. After the war it encouraged people to support the establishment of the United Nations. It took an interest in Cook County problems especially mental institutions,Cook County Hospital and County Jail. Local activities included a study of juvenile delinquency and action to get out the vote for school elections. Comments, suggestions, questions? Contact our
